Shooting the Breeze: Kiki's Delivery Service

In an alternate version of the 1950s in which neither World Wars happened a little girl is training to be a witch.

This is 94 minutes of gentle animated family adventure which will entertain the younger kids without patronising the adults.

In accordance with tradition, the young witch-in-training Kiki goes away to live and work alone for a year.

Settling in the seaside town of Korico, she and her cat Jiji start a delivery service and must cope with the challenges that come her way especially when she loses the power to fly.

Kiki's Delivery Service is over 15 years old and is a contempory of Disney's The Little Mermaid but it's every bit as good as the film which revived Disney's fortunes and betters it in many departments.

Lush animation and a well realised bygone world will charm all viewers old and young.

Disney supervised the dubbed version which is available to buy on Region 2 DVD and they've done a good job.

The film is available now on DVD with a special recently dubbed soundtrack including the voice talents of Kirsten Dunst.

Kiki's Delivery Service is rated U and is suitable for all.
