Poetry Pleases: Saga Of A Rose

Pam Taylor's poem emphasises the wondrous nature of the life-span of a single flower.

I am a rose.
I am a bud and my mystery is still to unfold.
I shall have petals of the loveliest pale pink
And my perfume will delight
The owners of the noses that are pressed to me.
As I grow older my petals will spread
And become full-blown until they will drop
And become part of the earth beneath me.
