Here's Alison: Hope

Hope is a bird that soars on the wing, declares Alison Ross's exuberant poem.

If hope had a fragrance
What would it be?
Pine needles and palms
The salt of the sea?
If hope had a colour
‘twould be shiny bright
Like pebbles in rivers
That dance in the light
If hope had a touch
‘twould be warm as the sun
After the winter’s
Cold chills were done!
For hope is a feeling
That grows in the heart
A leaving behind
A beginning, a start,
Hope is a bird,
That soars on the wing,
Hope is a song
That your heart starts to sing!
