Here's Alison: Goodbye, Dear Boy

Hair in the bathroom...clothes and papers everywhere... Alison Ross writes of an exasperated parent who decides that an untidy son should be given the sack.

My Darling Son the time has come,
When you and I must part,
I can live with you no more,
It really breaks my heart!
You need to learn your place in life,
You need to do your share,
My bathroom was a joy to see…
Now it’s wall to wall with hair!
My visitors climb up the stairs,
And gaze into your room
Clothes and papers, everywhere
Can I introduce you to a broom?
The pots all stay out overnight,
They party on the rack!
You do not do your jobs at all,
So I’m giving you the sack!
Please find yourself a little flat,
Where you can do your thing,
Learn that adults share the chores
Find the harmony it brings!
And when you realize my boy
You don’t need to be a pain,
Come home your room is waiting,
And I will welcome you again!
