Shooting the Breeze: Match of the Day

Paul Chan can't wait for the football season to start.

Followers of English football outside the Premiership will no doubt be quick to point out that, for them, football has already kicked off. For many fans around the world, though, the waiting has finally finished.

Football is a major attraction for people surfing the web. There are obviously plenty of websites for just about every football club you could name from Chelsea to your local Sunday League side.

You can get your news, views, reviews and stats from the official website or one of the many news sources on the web. Want a fan's view? You can bet there will be plenty of comments from fans on the many community messageboards or blogs. It's all just a quick search away using your favourite search engine.

The BBC's football coverage is very comprehensive for league football in Britain and also includes a link to the legendary Match of the Day programme.

If you are into Fantasy Football, you can check out the easy to use game on the official FA Premier League website. Unlike most of the others in newspapers, this fantasy league is free to enter and easy to administer.

  • Remember Roy of the Rovers? Well, you can take a trip down memory lane with the official website of the Melchester Rovers hero. It's perhaps itself more of a basic retrospective site than something more current and flashy - take the Mel Park tour and a trip down memory lane.
