Poetry Pleases: To Register Twins

David Reid's brisk rhyme will make you chuckle.

TO REGISTER A SET OF TWINS, WHICH ONE MUST DO BY LAW.

THE FATHER WAS ITALIAN, AND HIS ENGLISH VERY POOR.
HE ASKED HIS BROTHER ANTON, TO DO THE REGISTRATION.
TO MAKE HIS BABY BOY AND GIRL, A PART OF THIS GREAT NATION
THE LADY ASKED THE GIRL'S NAME FIRST, AND WHAT IS SHE CALLED PLEASE.
THE BROTHER ANSWERED LOUD AND CLEAR," SHE IS CALLED DENISE.''
"A LOVELY NAME, AND NOW THE BOY, HAVE YOU THOUGHT IT THROUGH.
THE BROTHER ANSWERED LOUD AND CLEAR, "YES, HE'S CALLED DE-NEPH-U.''
