U3A Writing: Tomorrow Is Another Day
Marie Armstrong presents a surprisingly cheerful poem, based on the song Oh! What A Beautiful Morning.
Oh what a terrible morning
Oh was a terrible day
I’ve got a horrible feeling
Nothing is going my way.
All the flowers in my garden are wilting
All the flowers in my garden are wilting
My lupins are droopin’
My dahlias are dead
And I think I am getting a cold in the head.
I’ve got a terrible toothache
I’ve got a terrible pain
I’ll have to go to the doctor
He’ll say, ‘Oh not you again.’
All the joints in my body are aching
And my legs they are trembling and shaking
My throat is so dry
I’ve a fly in my eye
And my temperature’s rising clear up to the sky
Oh what a terrible morning
Oh what a terrible day
But I have this wonderful feeling
Tomorrow will be a good day.
