Here's Alison: Your Jewels

Alison Ross's thoughtful poem reminds us that there are things far more valuable than jewels.

I met your Grand-daughter today...
She told me about you,
Hiding your jewels,
In these hills!
She didn’t say,
If you were gay,
If your laughter was good to hear,
She didn’t tell me she remembered,
Your smile,
She didn’t speak at all of love,
Only that you lived,
On Gentle Annie above.
And that she was never able,
To find, your jewels,
In these hills!
