Here's Alison: Winnie The Pooh

A four-year-old girl "reads'' a book to her Grandpa - and Grandpa asks himself a question in Alison Ross's sad poem.

Sit beside me Grandpa,
I’ve a book ‘bout Winnie the Pooh
I want to read you Grandpa
So sit beside me, do.

So Grandpa sat and listened
Her voice was like a bell
As she read him lots of stories
And didn’t she do well!

She didn’t know the words
Cause she was only four
But still she told the story
Like her Mummy had before.

And Grandpa listened closely
His arm around her tight,
And wondered how her dad could leave,
Her defenseless in the night?
