Poetry Pleases: Candy Making Blast

Phyllis Pankratz writes of a candy making disaster.

Would you like the recipe
For this candy that you see?

It is a snap to make and I’m no liar
When I say this candy will set you on fire.

There is no mint as you can taste
After being made it was strictly waste.

The spiral flames are not too many
Because they cost me quite a penny.

The mint blew up with flames so high
I thought for sure I was going to die.

Lady Luck was with me some of the way
But life is not easy and there is a price to pay.

Things could be worse and my skin will heal
The Lord has given me a real good deal.

The ex-rick candy maker,
Phyllis Pankratz
