small mushy crumbling breakers spill and fuss
shadow legged owners move in sloppy glides,
curl the leash,
throw the ball,
the dance of the dog
carries it away.
they shrink smaller,
dimmer;
the sun is setting
they drift along the grey beach
silently
fading
