It is not a long road really:
Only seems so sometimes in the living of it:

And if it seems now that if that was all there was,
It wasn’t much really
That if you had not done it before
Now was the time to do it
Quick
Before there is no more time.

Isn’t it sad if the worst you can think of
Is paddling with your skirts tucked into your bloomers,
Jiggling your false teeth at the little boy next door –
Or taking them out altogether on the bus.
