Bonzer Words!: From My Bedroom Window

Beryl C McKenzie writes of the view through her bedroom window "on a lazy winter's morning''.

From my bed, early on a lazy winter's morning,
I see through my window, the delicate
egg-shell blue of the sky.
Against the softness, skeletal trees are silhouetted,
while a flock of birds glide silently by,
flying effortlessly in a vee formation.
The dawn chorus tunes up, the Kookaburras strident,
and a Pale-headed Rosella
alights on the red powder-puff tree
just beyond the balcony.
The sun edges up into the sky, catching
the crystal hanging in my window,
sending a kaleidoscope of colours
around my room
