Poetry Pleases: The Ball Dress
Evelyn Frankel writes of a dream of a dress.
It was pink and it was dream
And it shimmered in the light.
I wore it to the Ball
On a very special night.
With its matching silver sandals,
Earrings which sparkled to,
My partner in his dinner suit
So elegant to view.
Oh we Cha-chaed and we Tangoed,
And we danced the Waltz Petite.
I never once considered
My tired and aching feet.
I felt just like Eliza,
Really could have danced all night,
All because of that pink Ball Dress
And a very special night.
