Here's Alison: Fantail
Fantails may have neat, pleated tails, but Alison Ross wonders whether the birds might not feel...well, unreal.
Fantail don’t you ever feel, unreal?
That your flitting isn’t fitting?
Or are you still rejoicing,
Dancing there amongst the pods
Boasting, that once you were,
A Messenger of the Gods?
We all know you were rewarded
For the Gods, they never cheated,
You now wear a brand new plumage
And your little tail is pleated!
Fantail, Messenger of the Gods
You spend your time in play,
Flitting here and flitting there
Boasting all the day.
But Fantail, don’t you ever feel, unreal,
That your flitting isn’t fitting?
