Blue, Green, Red and Purple: Oh Leave Me Not (dot dot.)
Whereas I do not love thee quite as much
As what I did before: it’s still a lot…
There's loneliness beneath the chuckle in Betty Collins's poem.

Whereas I do not love thee quite as much
As what I did before: it’s still a lot.
But now methinks ‘tis time to set up watch
Else, dear, possessions may be quite forgot.
I do not wish to trouble thee, my beauteous rose,
For things in heart’s love, gentle charity, bestowed;
Yet can I not forbear just once to mention those
Of all my treasures which I’d like restored.
I know you love them – as you love the world, so dearly;
And that you’ll call me mean, and other terms more bawdy:
Yet must I venture, or my name’s not Lover Boy, but merely
Y’r ,Silly Lad!’. “He lov’d me so much, dear! Oh Lordy!”
Alas another nameless swaddled fool by sweeping passion blinded
Who now sans TV, Ring, Apartment Key, AND Maiden Fair has ended
