Here's Alison: Letter To Santa

Alison Ross's poem concerns one of the most poignant letters ever written to Santa.

Dear Santa Claus
Next year I’ll be nine,
And too old to believe you exist
So for my present this year
There’s only one thing
The others, I’ve crossed off my list.

I’m wanting my Mum and Dad and me
All back together, how nice it would be
I don’t ask that they love each other again
To love I can see, only brings pain.
But to have both my parents kiss me goodnight
Oh Santa Claus it would feel so right.

Other kids are so lucky
They don’t feel this pain
Dear Santa Claus…
Make us a family again.
