Kiwi Konexions: While Paddling

Glen Taylor captures the joy of dipping one's toes into the sea.

In mid-morning sunshine
Stepping into waves
I feel the pull of tide
Dispersing winter lethargy.
Sun glints on sea
Catching ripples in hidden sand
Splitting its rays
Into silken sheen.
Shoals of fish flee
As avoiding detritus
I find crystal clear spray
And the mundane clutter
Of a busy mind empties
Leaving my muse
Free to wander
Through fresh water.
