Here's Alison: Buying Us Toys

Alison Ross's eight-line poem brings an important message as we rush helter-skelter into the season of overspend.

With hundreds of dollars of toys
Scattered all over the floor
There are still miles of fun to be had
In our Mothers’ kitchen drawer.

An egg-slice and beaters and bowls
Pot lids and fry pans for boys.
Our folks could have saved all the money
They’re wasted on buying us toys!
