She's Back Again: Leave Me Alone

Lorraine Roxon Harrington pens a poetic plea for freedom from self-torture.

My mind free of thought
Not thinking of the past
Enjoying just this moment
I am free and I can laugh.

Then you appear
Just long enough
To cause me doubt
And question
What is my life about?

Always present, I am never free
For you are there, a part of me.
Hovering, behind the scene
Appearing just to torment me.

The seeds of doubt you carefully sow
You nurture them and watch them grow
Too long you’ve been a part of me.
Please go now guilt, and set me free.
