Bonzer Words!: How Delicate Is The Rose

...can I do other than be thankful
for the fragrance of the blushing rose?...

Frank Dawson pays tribute to one of Nature's most satisfying wonders - the rose.

Frank's poem first appeared in Bonzer! magazine. Please visit www.bonzer.org.au

How slowly flows the stream;
how softly blows the wind,
how delicate is the rose!
If the stream so slowly flows;
if the wind so softly blows,
can the rose do other than to bloom?

Sitting by the flowing stream,
breathing the softly blowing wind,
can I do other than marvel
at the beauty of the rose?

I accept the stream as it is;
I accept the wind no matter how it blows,
can I do other than be thankful
for the fragrance of the blushing rose?
