Shooting the Breeze: Culture Show's Film Map

The BBC have launched an interesting quest to find your stories about memorable British film locations in popular cinema.

I saw an interesting item on BBC2's Culture Show at the weekend. It urges people to submit their personal stories about famous locations in British cinema.

From Carnforth Station (featured in Brief Encounter) to various eerie shots of a deserted London (as seen in 28 Days Later) there are plenty of places in Britain that have been visited on location for movies.

The micro site describes what the setting of each location was at the time of filming and what it's like now and you can expect the BBC film critic Mark Kermode to visit a selection of choices and visit them in due course for the show.

  • The BBC have a microsite on Youtube looking for your home made movies. Great news for budding Spielbergs or Hitchcocks...
  • Have your say
