Here's Alison: When Words Fall Into Line

Alison Ross's poem is about those times when words refuse to match feelings.

I felt a poem growing
But the words they would not form
The feeling that it gave to me
Was tender, sweet and warm.

I longed to tell you darling
In words of flowery prose
How much I really love you
And how the feeling grows.

I felt a poem growing
But the words refused to jell
And of your recent understanding
My heart was, too full to tell.

For when I see you trying
To really understand
My heart feels warm and happy
And I know you are my man.

One day I’ll write a poem
When the words fall into line
To tell you that I love you
And that… forever you’ll be mine.
