Bonzer Words!: The Toy Boy

It's a wise lady who learns not to indulge her toy boy, as Colleen McMillan's poem reveals.

Colleen writes for Bonzer! magazine. Please do visit www.bonzer.org.au

Shirley had a little boy
His face was all aglow
And with every gift that Shirley bought,
His affection seemed to grow.

He took her car out for a spin
An action oh so bold
He had no thought it was a sin
Until the police were told.

Then off he had to go to gaol,
With Shirley long he pleaded,
T'was all to no avail,
He was no longer needed.

Shirley has another toy boy
With gifts she's not so willing,
And finds he tries much harder
To be worthy of his shilling.
