U3A Writing: Christmas Dance

Pat Rollnik presents a poem for this special day.

Angels singing, sliding down the rainbow,
Joyful tidings – such a special day!
Stars in heaven dance in jubilation,
Tell the world that Christ is born today.

Mary, wond’ring, held the baby Jesus,
Kissed him, hugged him, laid him in the hay.
Shepherds coming, found their feet were dancing
At the news that Christ is born today.

Wise men, regal, solemn in procession:
One, two, three in dignified array
Till their camels started gaily dancing
When they heard that Christ is born today.

We, too, singing, join the celebration
Of the baby lying in the hay;
Share His love with everyone around us:
Christ is living in our hearts today.
