North American Dreaming: Renewel

...My plateau has yet to be reached,
My journey far from complete,

The climb is the thing,
The effort to reach it...

William Burkholder's poem goes to the heart of one of life's greatest truths.

Serenity’s garden;
Snow dusted,
Serene,

Evening tide rolling in,
Shadow lengthens,
Eye’s closed;
I dream.

Meditative sojourn
To high mountain tops.

Finding renewal in this,
Wiping Fog covered eyes,
Seeing truths at long last,

Tears falling on realizations
Escarpments;
Knowing that from these tears,
This rain,

That flower’s will grow,
That beauty will abound.

My plateau has yet to be reached,
My journey far from complete,

The climb is the thing,
The effort to reach it,

To find,
Me.
