Dr Ron's Laughter Clinic: Hospital Blues

There's one way of proving that you are not faking illness, as Ron Pataky's poem reveals.

Hospital Blues
Or: If it's not too much trouble, Doctor,
This man over here isn't breathing

That last buzz made three ... Oh my soul for a pill!
Helen Keller could see that I'm desperately ill.
Oh where are the docs when a fellow's in need?
Would a visable pox serve to augment their speed?

Or perhaps if I die (and I will at this pace)
They will deign with a sign to reopen my case
At least if I go then, before I awaken
They finally will know then that I wasn't fakin'.
