Ancient conquistadores
Wandering parapet of
Old Fort San Juan.
Rusted armor creaking,
In the coming dawn,
Brown stone ramparts,
Replete with storied age,
Epic battles fought,
Under tropic blaze.
Now, white houses,
Red roofs,
Ghost in the tower
They say.
Of one lone sentinel,
Staring out to sea,
Trapped in fort;
This parapet,
For eternity.
