Pamy's Place: Be A Titus!
...Titus has a way of showing up at just the right moment. You might be at the store, taking a walk, in a waiting room, or attending a community function, but wherever it is, Titus will find a way to be an encouragement to you...
Pamy Blaine says we should all try to lighten the burden of someone in need.
We all have occasions in our lives when we experience trouble, conflict, or fear. These are times when life is difficult and we feel overwhelmed by many things. Because of this, it can be such a comfort when a person comes along and lifts our spirits. When someone encourages us at just the right moment it is not an accident, matter-of-fact, a similar incident is written about in the Bible:
“…when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus” (2 Corinthians 7: 5-6)
Have you met a Titus along your way? Maybe Titus stopped in to see you, sent you a note, gave you a gift, called, or sent an e-mail to you at just the right time.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have someone say about us, “God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of_______ (insert the name of the person who came to help.”
Titus has a way of showing up at just the right moment. You might be at the store, taking a walk, in a waiting room, or attending a community function, but wherever it is, Titus will find a way to be an encouragement to you.
Sometimes Titus comes by your home or office with a word of encouragement or just smiles and waves at you from a distance as if to say, “I’m in your corner, and I’ve got your back!”
If you check around church, you will find Titus there. Titus is usually in Bible study and worship because Titus is committed to Christ. He strives to put God and the church that Christ died for in first place in his life. He knows life on earth is uncertain and short.
By the way, “Thank you, Titus, for being an encouragement in my life.” You know who you are. We need more people like Titus in our world today. Look around and see where God wants you to “Be a Titus” by comforting or encouraging another person.
Be a Titus!
“No one is more cherished in this world than someone who lightens the burden of another”
