Loved this article. As an old girl of Highbury Hill High School from l960-1967 I too remember the gym uniform, especially the navy blue knickers.
In my day the headmistress was Mrs Butcher, deputy head was Miss Charlesworth. Favourite subject History, teacher Miss Butcher. Not very good at languages though, especially latin. Seems the school never changed much over the years.
Did not keep in touch with any school pals as I decided to to up and emigrate to Australia at the age of 20. Would love to see any pictures of the school.
