Looking out the upstairs window,
remembering the yard below,
the summer days,
the late night thunder shows,
lightning's illumination in dark skies.
The winter evenings,
fires crackle picnics,
and the bees we battled.
Ice skating,
weddings, wakes,
evaporated now,
into the panes of memories glass.
