North American Dreaming: Garden Pond
William Burkholder’s poem expresses the joy which greets the coming of Spring.
The tarp removed,
water flows once again
under spring branches
budded with the maple joys
and sunlit sparkling water.
Koi fish swimming,
sunning,
water falling
and the rustling
of yesteryear's leaves
in the flowerbeds.
Spring, and the garden pond
flows once again.
