U3A Writing: Glacier
Meryl Nickels’ poem emphasises the power of water.
I have walked glaciers.
Does that equate with
Walking on water?
The glacier a miracle
Of frozen water
That moves slowly,
Inexorably, onwards
To the water's edge.
Shedding icy chunks
Into the stream's flowing.
Everywhere mute evidence
Of the power of water
That unleashed, Might engulf the world.
