Away With Worry: The Dark And I

Angela Black presents a bedtime poem for children.

When mummy tucks me up in bed
Kisses me, turns out the light
Then pads away on tip-toe tread
And daddy call upstairs "Goodnight''

I lie and listen to the dark
Softly singing in my ears
Then I hear old Rover bark -
The velvet silence disappears

I snuggle down in bed and feel
Teddy sleeping dozily
And dark and I and Teddy
We'll sleep together cosily.
