Away With Worry: Mouse In The Meadow

Angela Black's poem tells of an act of kindness to a small creature.

Through the meadow, across the lawn
Came the mouse, all forlorn
Treading the frost and the frozen ice
The winter is hard for little mice.

This adventurous little mouse
Came through the basement into the house
What he needed was to be warm
Unlike house mice they mean no harm.

We didn't think he'd like to stay
We gave him cheese and he went away.
