About Our Words: Barton Stacey
An article by Ronnie Bray stirred Brian Leaver's "sleepy memory pot''.
For me this piece is loaded with memories. Remembering Barton Stacey in winter, no wood for the stove; the Canal Zone, with its spicey smells and others; Port Said, its minarets and the muezzin's call to prayer with no response other than Army verbal from within the mossie nets down the dusty tent lines and the view of Fama 'G' Bay when we delivered to Cyprus in our RE Z Craft.
Seems along time ago now, but thank you Ronnie for stirring my sleepy memory pot anew.
