Away With Worry: Firelight And Music
Angela Black's poem features fire in all its moods.
Firelight that blazes, forests primeval
Firelight that burns with savage eyes.
Forests that groan with volcanic upheaval
Crushed then torn up, they fall and rise.
For the music that booms in my head is a tempest
Music that roars like a flood in my brain
Beating and steaming like Earth's first rain.
Firelight that clings round my limbs like warm velvet
Firelight that flickers and turns you to sprite
Dances and sings, coquettes on the hearth stone
Checkers the shadows with amber light
For the music that clings round my spirit is velvet
Music that shines in your face leaps and glows
Music that sings in my b rain is the firelight
Like your hand through my hair soothing it flows.
