Here Comes Treble: A Matter Of Trust

...Laughter echoes and rolls through our souls,
Reviving us each
With the warmth of tried and trusted
Friendship..

Isabel Bradley tells of the joy of friendship.

On Saturday evening, we attended a birthday party for a friend we hadn’t seen in some time. His friends – and ours – gathered early in the evening to surprise him when he arrived a little later. It was a grand reunion.

The Birthday Party

It’s been such a long time –
So good to see you!
You haven’t changed a bit.
Here – see the new house,
And all the changes we’re making!
It’ll be great when it’s finished,
But now it’s a bit of a tip.
The fire’s lit,
Have a drink!
Wine flows like water
And, toasty-warm in front of the flames,
We sit and gossip and catch-up,
Re-learn each others’ lives.
Rowdy, raucous,
Boisterous and sometimes bawdy,
Laughter echoes and rolls through our souls,
Reviving us each
With the warmth of tried and trusted
Friendship.

It was good to realise that such friends still exist. People who, though you see them seldom, accept you without judgement, and fall back into friendship with ease and joy.

Such friendships make the world a happier place to live in.

Until next time…. ‘here comes Treble!’
