About Our Words: Wartime In Amsterdam

An article by Ans Redelaar-Seinen about the harsh realities of wartime in Amsterdam was of particular interest to Nicole van der Steen who lives in that city.

Nicole writes:

I live in the house Joanna Korper-Sarfaty lived in.. Because of a Dutch project about the war and the deportation of 80.000 people from Amsterdam, I was able to find her name and the name of her parents. I was surprised and shocked to read this story. Hope at least the children of Joanna have had a good life.

Thank you for the story, it helps me to never forget what happened during the war.

Kind regards,
Nicole
