Away With Worry: A Little Friend

Angela Black brings two more children's poems about a little four-legged friend, Meggie.

A Little Friend
Mimi's got a little friend
With cuddles night and day.
When she's upset, and starts to fret,
I cuddle her troubles away.

"Cupboard Love"
I'm not allowed to beg; but when
She's in her chair with her sandwich and eclair
I'm up on her lap, head on her chest, and then
I catch the crumbs without breaking the rule.
She says this love is "cupboard" and she's Mother Hubbard.
What does she mean? I'd better go to school.
She says I know enough and I'm no fool.
What does she mean?
