About Our Words: The Female Fregoli

Alan Markland from Wigan

Alan writes:
I am resarching the life and career of Lizzie Ramsden aka 'The Female Fregoli' 1867 - 1940. She was a Quick Change Artiste and worked continually from 1880 - 1910 all over UK and in America where she was pruduced by Tony Pastor and Oscar Hemmerstein the First. She had a strong connection with The Grand Theatre Bolton where she was presented in 1901 by her husband James Fortune. Any knowledge of this lady would be appreciated.
