Away With Worry: The Old Man And The Witch
Angela Black’s poem recalls invented fears.
An old man with a stick
Lives next door to a witch,
And nearby is a ditch
Where thy throw the children in.
So when we reach their gate
We stop and look and wait,
Then pretend that we are late
And run and run and run
But Grandpa says they're queer,
And Grandma says they're kind.
So when next I pass their door
I think I'll change my mind.
