Poetry Pleases: Compost
Joyce Worsfold offers unusual advice for caring for a compost bin.
They say if you pee in a compost bin
The loam is made the quicker
The chemical surge
Is made to purge
the contents to something richer.
It used to be thought in days gone by
that a bishop’s pee was best.
But now we know
It is not so
Science has done the test.
Though men can pee further
And it generally is stronger.
All pee is equal it’s true
So the soil that comes from a compost bin
Is largely up to you.
