Word Acts: Freud Never Met My Father
Lawrence Willson's poem will make you smile, then set you to thinking.
When I was a lad my dad
on occasion cautioned me
that I was getting a bit
too big for my own britches-
to which I once did ask him
to buy me bigger britches
So dad opened his closet
and pulled out a pair his own
then tossed them to me, saying,
Just wear these, rest of the day
