About Our Words: The Dream Man's Coming

Kay Haywood from Devon was delighted by a poem quoted by Eileen Perrin in her endearing autobiography. Kay has a question for our readers.

Kay writes:

I can't tell you how pleased I was to read that someone else knew this lovely children's poem. My mother used to say it to me when I was young. I am 80 years old now and still remember every word. I have often wondered if she made it up!

She also used to sing - The Dream Man's coming with his train of toys, That reach right up into the starry skies.Come you little one's and have no fear, for the Man in the Moon is the engineer.

Also - Sea gull, seagull, fly away over the sea. Seagull, seagull take this sweet message for me...
Does anyone know these?
