It was announced today on the Chatsworth House website that Deborah Dowager Duchess of Devonshire passed away this morning.
She was aged 94 and was the last surviving Mitford sister. The news was announced by her son, the Duke of Devonshire.
The announcement said:
“It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Deborah Dowager Duchess of Devonshire passed away peacefully this morning.
An announcement about funeral arrangements will be made shortly.
