Poetry Pleases: The Mystic

Aileen Boyed, challenged to write a poem containing a given list of words, tells us of a mystified mystic.

The prosperous mystic,
Stuck-up the profanity on the wall
It was horrid, but was his duty
To reveal for one and all.

It was gruesome, it was galling
And abhorrent to his calling
It left the mystic mystified.
Why did it keep on falling?
When he’d stuck it on the wall.

It was profane, it was prohibited
And he had wondered
What to do with it.

Alas, that’s how it was
With it stuck-up on the wall
The prosperous, misguided mystic
Gave profanity to us all.
