Poetry Pleases: Places In My Heart

Tony Ellis is aware of an inner sacredness that is beyond the reach of mere words.

There are places in my heart
so sacred
that no one can go there;
so huge in their unspokeness
that no voice dare sound.

There are flowers in my heart
whose petals when unfolding
touch me
as gentle as a soft wind.

There is a steady flame in my heart,
unflickering,
as constant as the moon
and honest like empty space.
