Harry's Tales: The Fastidious Lady

Harry Wroth tells a grin-worthy tale.

At an office in town worked a female clerk and one of her weekly duties was to prepare and packet the payroll. She hated germs. After the paypackets were issued to the employees she would thoroughly disinfect her desk.

One of her male colleagues often used to chat to her and they were on friendly terms. She said to him one day, "My husband brought home a library book the other day. The cover was so dirty that I had to wear gloves to read it!"

He replied, "I'm surprised at you. I did not think you read that kind of book.''
