Poetry Pleases: On The Edge

Mary Clemons says a great deal about love in seven emotive lines of poetry.

Sometimes when your hand takes mine,
your thumb explores my palm;
your corner glance sends a silent signal.

The slight rise of your lips
is a smelting furnace that melts
away the core of crusty years and leaves

a giddy girl on the edge.
